At MSV, Independent Living is about more than simply providing a home. It's about helping people feel safe, supported, connected and able to live independently for as long as possible.
Our Independent Living services include Later Living housing, supported accommodation, extra-care housing and services for younger people and customers with additional support needs.
We know that everyone’s needs are different, which is why our approach focuses on creating welcoming communities where people feel respected, valued and supported to live well.
Our Independent Living Strategy 2026–2029
We have launched a new Independent Living Strategy which sets out how we will continue to improve homes, services and support over the next three years.
The strategy has been shaped by feedback from customers, colleagues and partners, helping us focus on the things that matter most to the people who live in our communities.
Our priorities include:
- helping customers remain independent for longer
- investing in safe, modern and accessible homes
- improving wellbeing and reducing loneliness
- strengthening digital access and inclusion
- providing clear and supportive customer pathways
- maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
Supporting Later Living customers
Our Later Living services are designed to help older customers remain independent while feeling part of a safe and supportive community.
Depending on the scheme, support may include:
- secure and accessible accommodation
- communal spaces and social activities
- wellbeing support
- opportunities to connect with neighbours and local services
- access to digital support and advice.
We are also continuing to invest in our homes and communities to ensure they remain safe, comfortable and fit for the future.
