You’ll be joining our established Property Services team which provides day to day, void and capital works programmes across MSV properties. As someone with experience in delivering a comprehensive multi trade service with a focus on plastering and joinery in domestic and commercial properties, you’ll produce services to a high standard while managing and prioritizing your workload.

As a core member of the Property Services team you’ll carry out a variety of general maintenance works. You’ll be able to measure and order materials and have a working knowledge and ability to deliver some minor tiling and painting work. You’ll also be accomplished with the safe and correct use of basic power and hand tools and be able to work at heights.

The successful candidate will have experience of working on maintenance of domestic and commercial properties and have a strong commitment to high quality customer service. With previous experience of working with multi trades, you will be able to carry out duties under minimum supervision and as part of a team. Plastering and Joinery skills are essential and you will have a flexible approach to working in a variety of working conditions as well as being able to establish and maintain good customer relationships.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the service that MSV delivers to our customers, so your effective communication skills and ability to understand with empathy the diverse needs of our customers will be key. You’ll be based in the communities we serve and will work under minimum supervision and as part of a team using a flexible approach.

You’ll need a full UK driving license as well as a full well-maintained tool kit at all times.

You’ll be joining the Social Investment Team at an exciting time as we launch our new Positives Futures Hub and community offer. You’ll be responsible for managing and developing our training facility in Moss Side, developing strong and successful relationships with partners to deliver a first-class employability and skills service with a focus on young people in the heart of our communities. Young Persons Support Worker

Reporting directly to the Foyer Manager you will be working with the Foyer Team to ensure our Young People are supported through their independent living journey providing essential support with individual needs. You will carry a caseload of young people and work to engage them in the Manchester Foyer offer tailoring support plans and goals to enable our young people to achieve positive outcomes during their stay with us.

You will have a proven track record in this highly rewarding field with the skills and experience to deal with multiple and complex needs of our young people. You will be able to manage difficult situations calmly and recognise necessary intervention measure when needed.

The successful candidate will show enthusiasm and a strong commitment to meeting the individual needs of each young person accessing our service and have previous experience with a similar client group. You will have the ability to engage, motivate and inspire our young people to live independent lives, empowering them to maintain their tenancy agreement and in time move on to their own accommodation outside of the Foyer environment.

Experience of one to one support planning, risk assessment, delivering training and an understanding of the welfare benefits system is also required. You must be client focused, have the ability to communicate at all levels, be a self-starter and demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to helping our young people achieve their goals.

You will become part of an establish and hardworking team who are passionate about our Foyer services and our young people. You will be expected to cover the Foyer Rota between the hours of 8am and 8pm working 7 hours per day Monday – Friday. You will also provide cover for other Young Persons schemes as required.

As this post is based in a supported housing project for young people and children, the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced criminal records background check.
