Investing in your home
Each year, we invest in customers’ homes to help keep them safe, comfortable and well maintained.
Our investment programme includes work such as new kitchens, bathrooms, boilers, windows and external doors, as well as roofing work. We refer to these as components.
The expected replacement timescales for investment into these components are shown below. These are a guide only. We assess the condition of each component before deciding whether it needs to be replaced.

Our five-year investment programme
The table below shows how much we plan to invest in our homes over the next 5 years through our planned investment programme:
Additional investment in our homes
We are also investing millions of pounds in our homes to:
- Meet new legal and regulatory requirements
- Improve energy efficiency and support our journey towards net zero
- Refurbish our sheltered housing schemes
- Upgrade heat networks and reduce carbon emissions
Over the next three years, we are planning the following additional investment to our homes.
Is my home included in the programme?
To find out whether any investment is scheduled for your home, please complete our contact form or call us on 0161 226 4211.
We are improving our systems so customers can access information about planned work to their homes more easily. We expect this service to be available from January 2027.
Once the service is available, customers will be able to log in to their My MSV customer account and request a PDF showing information about key components in their home, including the:
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Roof
- Windows
- External doors
- Electrical system
- Boiler and heating system
What if my home is not included?
If you believe a component in your home needs replacing, you can ask us to assess it.
We will consider its current condition alongside the information we already hold about your home. We will then let you know whether work is required and, where possible, when we expect it to be completed.
If something is broken or needs repairing, please report a repair.
Will I be notified before work begins?
Yes. If work is planned for your home, we will contact you in advance with details of the work and what will happen next.
Delivering value for money
We carefully select and monitor the contractors working in our homes. We consider both cost and their ability to deliver safe, reliable and high-quality work. This helps us make sure that the money we invest in improving customers’ homes is spent responsibly.
