 Essential Maintenance & Care

These actions prevent the buildup of heat and flammable materials.

  • Clean filters and vents:

    • After every use, clean the lint filter.

    • Periodically check and clean the vent pipe and heat exchanger to prevent fluff buildup, which is a major fire risk.

  • Service the appliance:

    • Have the dryer professionally serviced periodically to check for electrical faults and worn parts.

  • Check for damage:

    • Regularly inspect the power cord, plug, and socket for any signs of scorching or damage.

  • Check for recalls:

    • Register your appliance with the manufacturer to be notified of any safety recalls.

Safe Operation Guidance

Follow these guidelines every time you use the dryer.

  • Don't overload:

    • Avoid overloading the dryer, as this can restrict airflow and cause overheating.

  • Ensure proper ventilation:

    • Make sure the dryer's vent is not kinked, crushed, or blocked.

    • Ensure the machine is operating in a well-ventilated room.

  • Complete cycles:

    • Allow the entire drying cycle, including the cool-down period, to finish. Stopping it mid-cycle can cause clothes to continue heating up and potentially ignite.

  • Check for contaminants:

    • Never dry items that have come into contact with flammable liquids like oil, grease, or solvents, as they can ignite.

  • Use on correct surfaces:

    • Avoid placing the dryer directly on carpet, as this can create a fire risk.

Important Safety Warnings

  • Do not run a tumble dryer unattended:

    • Never leave the dryer on when you are asleep or away from home.

  • Be aware of warning signs:

    • Immediately stop using the dryer if you notice any burning smells, hear unusual noises, or if clothes feel hotter than usual at the end of a cycle.
