MSV Appoints New Board Chair

Thursday, 05 August 2021

MSV is delighted to welcome a new Chair to our Board, alongside other recently co-opted board members.

We are delighted to announce that in September, Gareth Hall will be taking over as MSV Group Board Chair when our current Chair Martin McNally retires after completing his 6-year term of office.  Gareth brings an extensive range of skills to the role, with over 40 years of experience in the commercial, banking, healthcare, and commercial development sectors, including NED roles with Warrington and Halton Clinical Commissioning Groups. As an established member of the Board, Gareth’s values and ethos are clearly aligned with MSV’s social purpose and mission.

Alongside this, we recently announced 3 newly co-opted Board members, and we are thrilled to welcome Sally Webb, who will join the Board in September. Sally brings with her over 20 years of entrepreneurial business experience and a commitment to young people (a key focus for MSV) in her role as a trainee therapeutic counsellor.

Charlie Norman, Group Chief Executive said:

“I’m really excited to work with Gareth as Chair, and I know that he is committed to MSV values, the delivery of our People, Planet, and Place pledges and shares a determination to tackle the root causes of social injustice. I’d also like to sincerely thank Martin for his many years’ service, for his support, and for his purposeful leadership in doing the decent thing for MSV customers, colleagues, and communities. Whilst it is sad to see board members retiring, it’s fantastic to welcome so many new members to the board, all bringing differing skills, diversity of thought, and a broad range of life experiences to MSV. The new appointments will further enhance the quality of governance at MSV and, importantly, reflect our vision and values and our commitment to customers and communities.”

And finally – we have an exciting new opportunity.

We will shortly be recruiting a Senior Independent non-exec role as part of our succession plan when our Vice-Chair, Jon Lord steps down. The newly created role will have a specific focus on equality, inclusion and diversity and will work alongside the new Chair to help move our governance from strength to strength. Details on this will be advertised.
