Our ASB Officer talks about hate crime and how you can report it in this short video

Witnessed or experienced hate crime?  Please report it

Hate crime has no place in our communities. Everyone has the right to feel safe and we all have a responsibility to stand against hatred and discrimination.

National Hate Crime Awareness Week is an opportunity to stand together against prejudice and discrimination. Latest Home Office figures show that almost 116,000 hate crimes were recorded by police in England and Wales in the year ending March 2025, highlighting the continued impact of hate and intolerance on individuals and communities. Everyone has the right to feel safe, respected and valued. This week, we encourage people to learn more about hate crime, speak out against discrimination and report incidents when they occur. Together, we can help create communities where everyone feels welcome and able to be themselves.

MSV is an approved Hate Crime Reporting Centre, which means you can speak to us instead of the police, even if you are not an MSV resident. Our Community Safety Team has been trained to help support victims, submit police reports, help to prevent escalation and better understand Hate Crime and Hate Behaviour in our communities.
