MSV Awarded the Investors in Diversity Accreditation

Monday, 05 July 2021

The Investors in Diversity Award is a nationally recognised equality and diversity accreditation that recognises excellence in this area.

This all-encompassing approach to the effective management of equality, diversity and inclusion will enable MSV to take a structured and planned approach to embedding equality and diversity at the heart of what we do.

Charlie Norman, Chief Executive said: “MSV has always prided itself on being an inclusive and fair landlord and employer, but we wanted to take our celebration of diversity and our inclusion work even further.  Our People, Planet and Place pledges highlight the absolute need for every person, whoever they are, and whatever they may face to be treated with respect.  Our EDI, Anti-Racism Taskforce (ART) and PRIDE groups, led by colleagues within MSV, provide a safe space for everyone to discuss any issues they face in their day to day lives, and be open and honest about where MSV can do more to support them.  There are many challenges for us and in society - we must never feel like we have ‘done what we need to do’, and being a community anchor in a number of areas across the North West as well as providing specialist and independent living homes, there is always more to be done.  But we are totally committed to ensuring MSV puts people and communities at the heart of what we do and being absolutely clear about tackling the root causes of injustice and inequality faced by so many.”

Solat Chaudhry, Chief Executive of the National Centre for Diversity, commented “We are delighted that Mosscare St Vincent’s Housing Group has achieved the Investors in Diversity Award, and I would like to extend our congratulations to their leaders, staff and tenants on their success to date. By engaging wholeheartedly with the Investors in Diversity programme, they have demonstrated a real and tangible commitment to Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE) and to continuous improvement in this area.”

Achievement of the National Centre for Diversity's Investors in Diversity Standard demonstrates that an organisation has not only committed to building a culture of fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement (FREDIE), it also shows that it can evidence this in a practical way.

Through completion of staff engagement activities and a review of activities, organisations that achieve the Standard have shown that they have an approach to FREDIE that is structured, planned and embedded at the heart of what they do in terms of strategy, leadership, recruitment, recognition and positively influencing their supply chain.
