GMP Neighbourhood Policing Consultation

Monday, 07 March 2022

On 1 February 2022, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) launched a Neighbourhood Policing Consultation that offers the people of Greater Manchester the opportunity to directly tell them what they want to see from their neighbourhood policing function.

This is part of the action GMP is taking to fulfil the public promises made by Chief Constable Stephen Watson when he launched their Plan on a Page last September.

GMP is inviting members of the public to attend public consultation events where they can provide their views. Neighbourhood policing is a crucial part of the future of policing in Greater Manchester, and the results of the public consultation will influence how GMP police work together in our community for years to come.

A policing consultation of this scale is something that hasn’t taken place in Greater Manchester for some time so represents a once in a generation opportunity to significantly influence the approach to neighbourhood policing for our communities.
