Many residents are unaware that while the building is insured by the landlord, their personal belongings are not. Home contents insurance can help protect items such as furniture, clothing, electrical goods and other possessions against risks including fire, flood, theft and water damage.
The My Home Contents Insurance Scheme is provided through the National Housing Federation in partnership with Thistle Tenant Risks and is designed specifically for people living in social and affordable housing.
