Elmswood Park VE Day Celebrations
Yesterday marked a significant VE Day, the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. It was such an important day to remember and honour the bravery and sacrifices of those throughout the conflict.
Throughout the week, our schemes and hubs have been commemorating with various events.
Jean Byers Hub and Carrbrook Hub and Elmswood Park hosted VE themed coffee mornings, craft sessions and a quiz. Elmswood Park held a garden party with live music and singing with residents joining from the surrounding areas.
We were delighted to support Bowes Street Residents Association. They successfully applied to our Kindness Fund to support an event at the Claremont Pub yesterday.
