Many bulky items like mattresses, fridges, and furniture can be collected from your home.

Council Collections:

Most councils offer a collection service - there may be a small fee but this varies by council.

If your items are in good condition, many charities will collect them for free. Note: Upholstered items (sofas, etc.) must have a valid fire safety label.

Stop Fly-Tipping: Keep Our Streets Clean

Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste. It is a criminal offence that can lead to heavy fines or a prison sentence.

If you pay someone (like a private "man-with-a-van") to take your waste, you are legally responsible for where it ends up. Always check they have a valid Waste Carrier Licence.

How to Report Fly-Tipping

If you see rubbish dumped on public land or witness someone in the act, please report it immediately to help the council clear the area and investigate.
