The Moss Side regeneration project is about more than just building new homes – it’s about integrating into a community that reflects its rich heritage, meets local needs, and enhances the environment for future generations.
We’ve taken on board feedback from past consultations, and now we’re focusing on Site 1: The Reno site, where 212 new homes are planned.
This update shows how we have changed the plans following feedback, and how you can share your views to help shape key areas such as local heritage, social value, and green spaces.
Site 1 will be made up of 212 much-needed new affordable homes (128 social rent and 84 Rent-to-Buy) the buildings will range between 3 to 10 stories in height, and include a mix of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes. It will also include wheelchair accessible properties and dedicated older persons homes.
Sites 2 and 3 (Barnhill Street and land at Westwood Street and Raby Street) are paused for now while we focus on site 1.
Site 4, which was the Greenheyes Adult Education Centre, is now no longer part of our plans for regeneration.

Steering Group Report 2024
Following the public consultation in September 2023, and the subsequent meeting with the Steering Group in Nov 24, a decision was made to prioritise Site 1: The Reno, in terms of designs and consultation. Sites 2 and 3 are paused (they are still allocated to low-rise family housing).
