We’re excited to announce the Moss Side Youth Fund

It's a dedicated pot of money for projects that support and empower young people in Moss Side.

This is a joint fund between MSV Housing, Manchester City Council, Arawak Walton, Jigsaw Homes and One Manchester. By working together, we’re pooling resources to back local ideas that make Moss Side a safer, stronger, and more positive place for young people to grow and thrive.

What We’re Looking For

Grants of £100 to £5,000 are available to help youth-focused groups, projects and organisations.

We’re particularly interested in projects that:

  • Support early action – Activities that give young people positive opportunities and help steer them away from crime, violence or negative influences.

  • Build youth-led resilience – Projects where young people take the lead in tackling issues such as wellbeing, community safety, food insecurity or digital exclusion.

Who Can Apply?

  • Applications are welcome from groups and organisations working with young people in Moss Side.

  • Informal youth groups and individuals can apply too – as long as they’re supported by a local organisation (such as a school, charity or community group).

  • Larger bids (£5,000) should show strong collaboration or partnership working.

What We Can Fund

We’re open to a wide range of project costs, including:

  • Sessions, events or workshops

  • Volunteer expenses (e.g. travel or food)

  • Materials and equipment (from sports kit to art supplies or digital tools)

  • Training and learning opportunities

  • Specialist support (e.g. youth workers, peer mentors, wellbeing activities)

  • Hiring safe community spaces

If it helps your project to succeed, we’ll consider it.

What We Can’t Cover

To be fair and consistent, we’re unable to fund:

  • Projects outside Moss Side or those that don’t directly benefit young people

  • Staff salaries or ongoing organisational costs

  • Activities that have already taken place
