It's 'Volunteer Week' and we are celebrating the amazing work our volunteers do every day

It’s volunteer week and we are celebrating the amazing work our volunteers do every day at MSV.  Just one of those volunteers is Anne Greenhalgh, who has dedicated many years of her life to volunteering with MSV, working at the UCAN Centre in Farnworth.

Anne was surprised and delighted to scoop the Unsung Hero award at our recent Community Spirit Awards night.

The award was very well deserved as Anne has dedicated so much time, effort and love to the UCAN - volunteering has never been just a weekly occurrence but a daily commitment. Anne has held endless craft classes, trained other volunteers, taken part in events and initiatives, as well as carrying out administrative duties and reception cover.

Colleague, June,  spoke of Anne’s achievements:  “Without the hard work and commitment Anne has given, the UCAN would not have been able to offer as much as it has to the community over the years.   Anne loves working at the UCAN and she loves the staff and the camaraderie and feeling part of a tight knit team.  Working there has been her lifeline and she deserves this award for her dedication.  Receiving such an accolade was a lovely surprise for Anne as she has had a tough time recently and this recognition has let her know how much she is loved and appreciated by MSV.”

Massive thanks to Anne for her inspiring and valuable work. Truly a #MSV star.
