Cooking to Live Well at our Jean Byers Hub

Big thanks to Duncan and Josh from Bounceback Food CIC who have been running a 4 week Live Well cookery course at our Jean Byers Hub, teaching local residents how to cook a variety of healthy, nutritious meals as well as giving recipes to take away and tips on improving food budgeting skills.

It was fantastic to see the residents discovering a love of cooking, whilst having a good natter with other members of the community!

Local resident Michael said:  ‘I am very much an amateur cook and had never cooked anything from scratch before.  This course has been really enjoyable – well taught with easy steps to follow.  I have learned so many useful skills such as the correct way to chop’.

Cath, Community Project Officer at MSV said: Bounceback's Live Well Cookery Programme has been well attended by the community. The course has been very informative and the residents have really enjoyed learning a range of skills from Hygiene to Nutrition and how to plan and cook meals with fresh ingredients.

Bounceback Food CIC is a social enterprise that helps tackle food poverty with their 'buy one, give one' foodbank drive at market stalls across the North -West and range of cookery workshops and programmes.
