Heritage was struggling to find work, feeling stuck in a cycle of submitting applications that never resulted in interviews. Realising she needed support to improve her CV and cover letter, she attended a Job Fair in Moss Side where she met officers from MSV and managed to secure a placement within our Positive Futures service from there.
Heritage explained that her transition into the workplace was smooth, and she gained vital experience by handling administrative duties, data entry, and carrying out face-to-face customer service. This dedication to her career development has paid off, as she has since secured a temporary position as a Compliance Administrator at MSV.
Outside of her role, Heritage is highly motivated and self-driven and is preparing for a career in cybersecurity. Her days are varied, often involving filming content for social media, studying for her CompTIA Security+ certificate, and travelling to London for networking events. Ultimately, she hopes to use her experience from her placement at Positive Futures and her position as a Compliance Administrator as a springboard into a technology associate role or an entry-level cybersecurity position.
Heritage spoke of her compliance role: “My role as a Compliance Administrator has allowed me to build practical experience in compliance and organisational processes while developing skills. I’m keen to continue growing within this space”.
