'A Cleaner Space is a Safer Place' campaign launches in Moss Side

A new campaign, “Cleaner Space is a Safer Place” has launched in Moss Side to promote and encourage participation to keep the area clean and safe.  The campaign, run by MSV and partners including local councillors, community leaders and local residents aims to turn some of the alleys in the area into green spaces.

The campaign launched with a skip day which was used steadily by residents and local businesses. The engagement through the day was very positive and Manchester City Council have reported a significant increase in recycling in the area since the campaign launched.  There will be additional clean up days planned in the coming months.

Residents have been invited to a public  meeting with representatives from the local authority to talk through potential plans to turn their alleys into green spaces and visit existing alleys that have won awards and have been successfully sustained.
